DONATE to redbird
Redbird's programs are diverse, and include Native American, environmental, art, healing arts and motorcycle safety programs. We are a 501(c)(3), all volunteer foundation, founded in 1990 and receiving non profit status in 1994. All of our work is funded by donations. We apply for State and Federal grant opportunities, as well as private foundation grants and corporate sponsorships; if your company has a charitable giving program that is aligned with our work, we'd love to learn about it. You can also give when you shop at no cost to you via Amazon Smile (choose Redbird, Simi Valley, CA), eScrip and via eBay if you are a merchant or sell items using eBay. Redbird is also registered with Facebook, and can accept donations through Facebook without paying processing fees on your donation. Your support, especially in these challenging times, is very much appreciated.

Chilao School
Chilao School is a 4.1 acre property in the Angeles National Forest with what is probably the last one room school house ever built in this region. Today the school is used for cultural, environmental, arts and healing arts programs, several annual gatherings, reunions, yoga, acupuncture, and motorcycle technical skills workshops and suspension clinics. Chilao School has been used to do everything from intensive retreats to painting workshops and music videos. Redbird is the host foundation and curator of Highway 2 - the journey and the destination, a traveling multi-artist, multi-media art show about the Angeles National Forest and the Angeles Crest Highway.

Children of Many Colors Powwow
The Children of Many Colors Powwow will return to Oxnard College on the Gymnasium field, June 2,3 and 4, 2023. The continued sponsorship of Southern California Edison and Oxnard College are making it possible to hold this year's gathering once again. Powwows are integral to the cultural continuity of urban native populations. They serve as a vital source of community building, a place where indigenous people make important, lifelong connections. We are honored and grateful to be able to host this family friendly, visitor friendly powwow. we are grateful to the Chumash nation and other California tribal people for allowing us to have this powwow and for being a part of it.

After The Fire,
Forest Recovery Project, Environmental Initiatives Documenting ten years of natural recovery from fire in the Angeles National Forest, the Forest Recovery Project is a major photographic resource. Since 2017 we've augmented our public presentations with fire safety for the human population. Our decade of observation has shown s the need to implement two new environmental initiatives - one regarding invasive species in the Angeles National Forest, and one about providing water for wildlife.
