Highway 2 - the journey and the destination
A multi-artist, multi-media gallery show series celebrating the angeles national forest and angeles crest highway in all of its rugged, challenging, incredible beauty. our goals are to share the artistic vision of local artists, promote an appreciation and understanding of our forest, and create mutual respect for its many diverse users.  we offer emerging artists the opportunity to show their work alongside seasoned PROFESSIONALS,  and provide opportunities for education through related presentations. these presentations may include topics such as fire ecology, forest recovery, native plant knowledge, native american cultural knowledge, connection and presence; storytelling, wildlife and night/celestial photography, forest history, birding, volunteerism and forest management, specific art techniques (such as journal sketching and plein air and painting, ceramics, basket weaving), gardening with native plants, habitat creation and re-creation and journaling, as examples.  The highway 2 show has been combined with a people's choice motorcycle show at several venues.  our motorcycle technical skills program, originally combined with the show, has now evolved into the highway 2 motorcycle track day, held in spring and autumn, at willow springs international raceway.  at this event, We offer mentoring and instruction to c group riders at no additional cost.  all experience levels welcome.
